Eleven-year-old Tanya Bhatia played a blistering knock of 70 runs to help Chandigarh taste first win in the ongoing Haryana inter-district cricket tournament, beating Karnal by a huge margin of 207 runs in a match played at Karnal today.

On winning the toss, Chandigarh skipper Anit decided to bat first. Staging a brilliant fight back in the tournament, Chandigarh posted an impressive total of 231 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted quota of 50 overs. Tanya Bhatia emerged as top-scorer for Chandigarh making 70 runs. Jaswinder (30) and Anit (25 n o) too chipped in with useful knocks. In reply, Karnal's top-order was destroyed by Chandigarh medium-pacer Manuta who scalped five wickets. Karnal were bundled out for paltry score of 24 in just 14 overs.

Chandigarh will take on Sonipat in their last match of the tournament on June 29.
